Bhavnagar was founded in 1723 AD by Bhav Singhji. It grew into one of the 15th richest princely states in India during the early 20th century. Bhavnagar is a scenic and beautiful place to visit in Gujarat. The city displays many naturally beautiful places and old temples.
Day 1: ARRIVAL BHAVNAGAR

Ghandhi Smriti: Gandhi Smriti once known as “Birla House” is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. This memorial holds a collection of photographs of the Ghandhiji. This place preserves a huge collection of books and other memorable things used by Mahatma Gandhi. A range of local and traditional handicrafts and embroidered products are available at the Smriti.
Takhteshwar Temple: This temple is situated on the small hill in the center of the city. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and was built in 1893 and named after Takhtsinghji. As this temple is located on the small hill one can sit on the serene marble courtyard and can have a panoramic view of the entire city.
Later you will be taken for lunch and then we will proceed to:
Mahuva: Mahuva is a small town which is the most visited tourist place. The greenery and natural beauty of the town makes it the most charming place near Bhavnagar. This town enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year as “Gulf of Khambhat” is very close to Mahuva. One can enjoy at the beach and can visit the ancient “Bhavani Temple” which attracts a huge number of tourists.
Bhavnagar Lock Gate: Bhavnagar Lock Gate is a popular tourists spot in the city. It is situated in the dockyard of the city that was built 100 years ago. This is one of the oldest dock of the country which is now used for making of ships.
Gangajaha: Gangajaha is one of the famous temple of the city which is visited by all the tourists coming in Bhavnagar. This site is the popular amoung all the sites in Bhavnagar. This temple place was earlier used as a tank. This temple is made up of white marble stones, giving it a elegant and graceful look.
